About me

I am Jonas. I do not build castles in the air, I build working Shopware systems.

Since 2021 I have been helping companies as a freelance Shopware specialist to make their e-commerce infrastructure stable, fast and profitable. At home in Oldenburg, on the road across the DACH region.

Why I do what I do

From coder to architect.

I realised early on: code is not an end in itself. A shop that looks technically fancy but buckles with every sale or causes horrendous hosting costs is not a success — it is a problem.

Over the past years I have specialised in solving exactly these problems. I am not the guy for 50-person meetings and colourful PowerPoint presentations. I am the guy who opens the bonnet, fires up Tideways and finds the bottlenecks others overlook.

Why freelance? Because I love the direct line. No project-manager whispers game, no agency overhead. When we work together, you talk to the person who ends up writing the code.

How I work

No consulting theatre.

Three principles I let myself be measured against — even when they are uncomfortable.

01

Honesty first.

If an idea is technical nonsense or burns your budget, I will tell you. Even if it is uncomfortable. Better one honest no before the kickoff than a damage report three months later.

02

Pragmatism beats perfection.

A feature has to go live and work. We optimise where the leverage is biggest — instead of getting lost in details. 80% impact with 20% effort beats any premium solution that never makes it to prod.

03

Technology has to pay off.

My goal is always ROI. Whether through reduced hosting costs (like −75% at KRAFT) or more stable processes — in the end what counts is the bottom line, not the elegance of the code.

Facts & figures

What you get, technically.

Focus

Shopware 5 & 6 — core, plugins, API architecture, migration and performance topics.

Tech stack

PHP (Symfony), Vue.js, MySQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, Tideways. Hosting on Hetzner / AWS / managed.

References

Strategic support for brands like KRAFT, Demecan and Motorsport Dietrich.

Attitude

Senior-level expertise without the agency baggage. Direct, personal, results-oriented.

Behind the monitor

More than just lines of code.

When I am not optimising SQL queries or planning infrastructure, you will probably find me travelling. I like to be inspired by new cultures and people — it gives me the distance I need to solve everyday Shopware problems with a fresh eye.

I live and work in Oldenburg, but value the freedom to deliver results remotely for clients across the entire DACH region.

Is this a match?

I am not looking for clients, I am looking for partners at eye level. If you want someone who just works through tickets, I am the wrong person. If you are looking for someone who understands your business and lifts it to the next level technically — let us talk.
